Digging through my hard drives I uncovered this unfinished portrait painting I was working on back in 2021.  It was the first portrait I had attempted in a very long time, and while I enjoyed working on it, I couldn’t get the hair looking the way I wanted no matter how hard I tried.

Eventually I just called it quits and chalked it up to a learning experience, and then promptly forgot all about it.  That was, however, until I stumbled upon the files. I think I was too hard on myself at the time I was working on it, but then spending so long trying time and again to get something to work and it not quite ever making it can be a frustrating experience. I think I will have another go at painting a portrait of a person at some point in the future, although I’m not sure when this will be as I enjoy painting animals too much.
